How does Mozzi-Mort™ work?
Mozzi-Mort™ is an insecticidal coating for use primarily on domestic and commercial buildings. The unique property of the product will attack the nervous and muscular system of insects. When a mosquito, for instance, lands on the treated surface, the enlarged cuticle will absorb traces of Mozzi-Mort™ via a process of osmosis. This will result in paralysis and death within a few minutes.
Mozzi-Mort™ is produced as a single pack, water based coating. It dries to a clear, semi-sheen finish. This enables the product to be used directly from the container without further mixing. The product can be applied over stone, brick, render, plaster or any previously coated surface (including wallpaper) without altering any existing decoration.
Mozzi-Mort™ contains an active ingredient which combines an advanced generation pyrethroid with a unique capsule suspension formulation for outstanding protection against numerous perimeter insect pests. The microencapsulated water-based formulation offers superior insect control.
Once the formulation has been applied and dried, the active ingredient is released from the capsules. Control will occur primarily through direct contact of the insect pest with the capsules, with the pyrethroid transferring directly from the capsule to the cuticle of the insect. It is also possible for the capsules to be ingested in the case of insect pests which preen themselves, such as cockroaches.
Mozzi-Mort™ can be used for both clean-out and maintenance. It is also labeled for use in food handling establishments and within food serving areas. It can be used on porous and non-porous surfaces without staining.
The active ingredient in Mozzi-Mort™ is effective against the following insects:

Application:
Mozzi-Mort™ can be applied by brush, roller or spraying equipment.
• Brush – use clean, short bristled brush
• Roller - medium nap roller
• Airless Spray – standard airless spray equipment, such as Graco
Bulldog Hydra or larger with a 0.48mm (0.019 inch) fluid tip or larger
• Conventional Spray – industrial spray such as De Vilbis MBC
or JGA or Binks 18 or 62 spray gun
When using spray equipment, it is recommended that the following apply:
• the product is thinned with water (10%)
• a moisture and oil trap in the main air supply line
• a pressure pot with mechanical agitator
• separate regulators for air and fluid pressures
• any equipment is cleaned with water
The product dries in approximately 2 hours (touch dry) with a film thickness of 15-25 microns, depending upon application method (VOC of >100gms/ltr). Coverage per litre is approximately 20m2 depending on substrate.
Ecological Effects
When applied as directed, Mozzi-Mort™ is low in hazard. When used at
the recommended label rates, it has no harmful effect on earthworms, soil
microorganisms, or soil processes. Mozzi-Mort™ displays no phytotoxicity.
Toxicity to Non-target Organisms
Mozzi-Mort™ is toxic to fish and should not be applied directly to any
body of water. When spraying, avoid fish and reptile pets.
